THE PILOT INN

SPECIALS:

  • Pan fried calves liver in sage butter, crispy bacon, creamed mashed potato, duo of cabbage & baby onion gravy £14
  • Trio of sausages: Wild boar, Venison & red wine and butcher’s Cumberland, creamed mash potato, garden peas & homemade onion gravy: £13
  • Homemade shepherds pie, garden peas & braised red cabbage: £13
  • Slow roasted crispy belly of pork, potato gratin, seasonal vegetables & baby onion gravy: £13 (20 minute cooking time)
  • Chargrilled 8oz ‘Blackgate” fillet steak, skinny fries, vine roasted tomatoes & mushrooms: £25

(Peppercorn, béarnaise or blue cheese sauce £1 each):

  • Roasted vegetable curry, basmati rice, poppadum & mango chutney: £12 (V)
  • Steak & kidney suet pudding, creamed mashed potato & seasonal vegetables £12

  • Goats cheese & caramelised red onion tart, beetroot & mixed leaf salad with a balsamic glaze: £6 (V)
  • Crispy fried whitebait, mixed leaf salad, homemade tartare sauce & lemon: £5
  • Box-baked camembert, red onion marmalade & toasted rosemary focaccia bread (ideal to share): £12 (V)

Children’s menu (All £5):

  • Battered cod /Scampi, chips & peas
  • Butternut squash, red pepper & spinach lasagne with homemade garlic bread (V)
  • Butcher’s sausage, mash & garden peas
  • Chicken nuggets, chips & beans (100% breast meat)
  • Grazing plate: Mature cheddar, vine-tomatoes, cucumber, carrot, homemade hummus & toasted pita (V)

Sandwiches (Available from 12:00-18:00, Monday-Saturday):

  • Hand carved Sussex ham, beer mustard & tomato
  • Mature cheddar, cucumber & spiced chutney (V)
  • Tuna mayo, red onion & mixed leaves
  • Bacon, brie & cranberry
  • Smoked salmon, cream cheese & mixed leaves
